Careful hand removal of roof foam, quoted from the survey.
Written quote once the survey is done. · Mon–Fri 8am–6pm, Sat by arrangement
When a survey says the foam should go, our team takes it off by hand, cutting and scraping it from slates, stone flags, tiles, battens and rafters, then vacuuming up what remains. Dust sheets go down first, respirators are worn throughout and all waste leaves with us. The written quote reflects roof size and foam type, and only follows a survey.
Before any foam is touched, the route from the front door to the loft hatch is covered, and heavy sheeting goes over the loft floor and landing. Work lamps light the whole void. The crew put on coveralls, gloves and respirators, and the household stays out of the loft and off the landing while we work.
Foam is cut and scraped away from slates, battens and rafters with hand tools, and the debris is vacuumed as the work moves along. Hand removal is slower than power tools but gentler on old timber and on the brittle underside of slate or stone roofing. Bagged waste is carried out and taken off site.
With the foam gone, the timbers are looked at again and photographed, and extra moisture readings are taken where we could not reach before. If damage has been uncovered, we say what we see and what we would suggest. You receive final photographs and a short note of the finished state, which a buyer or lender may later want to see.
